Day 1: Arrive Delhi – Srinagar (By air)
Arrive Delhi international airport and internally transfer to domestic terminal to board a short flight for Srinagar.
(You may like to spend overnight in Delhi incase arriving late night)
Traditional welcome - Atithi Devo Bhava (Guest is god) by garlanding on arrival at Srinagar airport by Travel Pals representative. Transferred in your exclusive air-conditioned car to your hotel for immediate check-in. Day free to relax and acclimatize.
Day 2: Srinagar
Today explore the lake city with your guide and visit Nishaat Bagh (The garden of pleasure), characterized by a series of ten terraces and quaint little lakes and gardens. Designed in 1633 AD and situated on the banks of the Dal Lake.
Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) - One of the enchanting Mughal gardens is the most exciting places of visit since it has completely transformed itself into newer colors and visuals with the advent of every new season.
Shankaracharya Temple - Lies at the top of the hills known as Takht-I-Sulaiman. It is devoted to Lord Shiva.
Evening enjoy Shikara boat ride on Dal Lake, a world-famous water body described by Sir Walter Lawrence as the "Lake par-excellence". The lake is undoubtedly a bird watchers paradise.
Day 3: Srinagar – Gulmarg (50 Kms / 2 hrs)
Leisurely driven to the meadow of flowers - Gulmarg. It is also popular for its golf course (in summer), the highest in the world and skiing during the winter season.
Day 4: Gulmarg
The day is at leisure to assist with acclimatisation. If you feel active, there are plenty of things to explore as one can have Gondola ride (cable car) from Gulmarg to Khalinmarg, enjoy photography, horse riding and shopping at this beautiful snow point etc.
Day 5: Gulmarg – Sonmarg (125 Kms / 3.5 hrs)
Continue drive through nice scenic spots to stay at Sonmarg 2690 mtrs (Meadow of Gold).
Optional one can ride on horse to visit Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year.
Day 6: Sonmarg - Kargil (123 Kms / 3.5 hrs)
Today we proceed to Kargil through some amazing scenic beauties on the way.
Visit the valleys and enjoy the panoramic view of the perfect scenic view. The experience of watching the sunrise from the white horizon is something which cannot be described in words.
One can also visit historical place - Kargil War Memorial which was built by the Indian Army to commemorate the Kargil War, which occurred between India & Pakistan in 1999. The main attraction is the Sandstone Wall on which is mentioned the names of all the martyrs of the Indian Army.
Kargil - Located amidst the mighty Himalayas and the beautiful rivers. Ideal place to visit for any adventure junkie and activities such as trekking, river rafting & cliff jumping.
Day 7: Kargil – Leh (217 Kms / 5 hrs)
Leave for Leh through the Fotula Pass (4166 mt) and Zojila Pass (3528 mt). We will pass through the first Buddhist village - Mulbek.
Enroute visit the 10th century Lamayuru Monastery and continue drive to the next village Nimu for an overlooking view of Zanskar River flowing into river Indus. Finally at evening reach Leh (3500 mt).
Day 8: Leh - Hemis – Leh
Today you will explore the famous Hemis Monastery situated 45 km west of Leh. Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh.
The day is at leisure to assist with acclimatisation. If you feel active, there are plenty of things to explore within easy walking distance of your hotel. A walking tour can be arranged on the day if you want to get out and about.
Day 9: Leh - Shey - Thiksey - Leh
This morning visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace - The former summer palace of the King of Ladakh.
The monks pray every day in Thikse at 6 AM - despite the early start, this is a worthwhile experience.
Day 10: Leh - Khardungla Pass - Nubra Valley (130 Kms / 4.5 hrs)
Today starts with a long drive from Leh over the world's highest pass - Khardungla Pass at 5600 mt, to get to the Nubra Valley. The drive could take longer as there are a number of photo stops, some amazing scenery and a recommended restaurant stop.
Evening free for exploring the Nubra Valley.
Day 11: Nubra Valley - Diksit Monastery - Pangong Lake (180 kms / 5.5 hrs)
Continue drive to Pangong Lake, via visit of Diskit Monastery – which belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
Pangong Lake - One of the world's highest saltwater lakes. The most notable feature of this lake are its ever-changing hues. The lake acts as an important breeding ground for a large variety of migratory birds like Brahmani Ducks, Rare black necked cranes and Seagulls.
Day 12: Pangong Lake
AM leisure walk surrounding lake and enjoy its beauty to treat your eyes. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 13: Pangong Lake – Leh (170 Kms / 5 hrs)
You are driven back to Leh, again over the high pass. The journey should take less time as there will be fewer stops, but will still take five to six hours, and there will be plenty of time to admire the views.
Day 14: Leh – Delhi (by air)
Today we will transfer you to Leh airport to board flight for Delhi to connect international flight for onward destination with sweet memories of your India tour.
